Congratulations—you’ve made it to Day Five of your journey with Jesus!
Today, I want to encourage you with something that can make a tremendous difference in your walk with Christ:
There’s a saying many of us have heard growing up: “Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.” While those exact words aren’t found in the Bible, the principle certainly is.
Hebrews 10:24–25 says:
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.”
The book of Proverbs also teaches that when we surround ourselves with foolish people, we’re more likely to make foolish decisions. Hebrews presents the opposite picture: surround yourself with people who love God, encourage your faith, and help you grow.
The word encourage literally means to pour courage into someone—to strengthen and help them do what would be difficult, or even impossible, on their own.
By Day Five, you may already be realizing that following Jesus isn’t always easy. At times, it can even feel impossible.
That’s exactly why God gave us two incredible gifts: the Holy Spirit and the Church.
God never intended for us to follow Jesus alone. He created us to grow in community with other believers.
That’s why the local church is so important.
Here at Legacy Church, there are many ways to build meaningful relationships and grow in your faith. You can join a Life Group, become part of a Serve Team, or faithfully attend our Sunday gatherings, where you’ll be encouraged through worship, biblical teaching, and authentic relationships with people who genuinely care about you.
Here’s my challenge for you today:
Our culture often promotes the idea that faith is entirely private—that you don’t need church or other believers to follow Jesus. While it’s true that your relationship with Jesus is personal, it was never meant to be lived in isolation.
You become a Christian by placing your faith in Jesus and surrendering your life to Him. But healthy spiritual growth happens when you’re connected to other followers of Christ.
I’ve never met someone who consistently walked with Jesus in complete isolation and experienced the fullness of the life God intended. Scripture continually points us toward community because that’s God’s design for His people.
Remember this:
No church is perfect because it’s made up of imperfect people like you and me. That’s why we extend grace to one another as we grow together.
A healthy Christian community is one of God’s primary ways of strengthening your faith, helping you mature, and speaking into your life.
So make it a priority to stay connected to the body of Christ.
Whenever you’re in town, make gathering with your church family a priority. If you’re traveling or unable to attend in person, stay connected online whenever possible. The important thing is to remain engaged, known, encouraged, and connected with other believers.

“God, I pray that You would surround me with a strong, godly community. Bring people into my life who will encourage me, strengthen my faith, recognize the gifts You’ve placed within me, and lovingly speak truth into my life with grace. Help me become an active part of the body of Christ, reflecting Your love to the world around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
