Welcome to Day Seven of your journey with Jesus!
While we’ve reached the end of these seven days together, this is really just the beginning of your lifelong journey with Christ.
Today, I want to encourage you with one simple truth:
The Bible says in Colossians 2:6–7:
“Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
Think about that for a moment.
If you know anything about plants, you know that healthy roots take time to grow. In the same way, your relationship with Jesus cannot be rushed. Spiritual growth is a lifelong process.
You won’t become everything God is shaping you to be overnight, and that’s okay. In fact, that’s exactly how God designed it.
You’ll spend the rest of your life growing to become more like Jesus.
Does that mean you’ll never make progress? Not at all.
As long as you continue pursuing Jesus, you will continue growing. There will always be another step to take, another lesson to learn, and another opportunity to become more like Christ.
The closer we grow to Jesus, the more we recognize the areas of our lives that still need His transforming work. That’s not discouraging—it’s an invitation to continue depending on Him every day.
Don’t assume spiritual growth will happen automatically. Growing older doesn’t always mean growing spiritually. If you want to mature in your faith, you must be intentional.
If you’re part of Legacy Church, here are a few practical next steps I encourage you to take.
First, attend Legacy DNA. It’s an opportunity to discover your spiritual gifts, understand how God has uniquely designed you, and learn how you can use your gifts to serve His Kingdom and make a lasting impact.
Second, enroll in our six-week course called Essentials. In this course, you’ll dive deeper into many of the topics we’ve introduced over the past seven days—learning how to pray, study the Bible, share your story, and continue growing in spiritual maturity. I truly believe this course will be transformational for your life.
Third, make a commitment to live a life of discipleship.
If you’re a man, consider joining Mentorship. If you’re a woman, get connected with Her Legacy. God designed us to grow alongside other believers.
The Apostle Paul wrote:
“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 11:1
That reminds us that every follower of Jesus should be learning from someone and helping someone else grow in their faith.
Share your story with your family. Share your faith with your friends. As you do, you’ll discover that your own faith becomes stronger. You’ll also recognize that people are watching your life to understand what it means to follow Jesus.
For some people, your life may be the closest example of the Gospel they ever see.
So let your life reflect the love, grace, and truth of Jesus.
Finally, I want to encourage you with this:
As you continue following Jesus, there will be wonderful days, and there will be difficult days. But through every season, remember this:
Don’t allow guilt, shame, offense, or disappointment to pull you away from God’s presence or from His Church.
We need one another.
We truly are better together.
I’m so excited that this is only the beginning of your story. I hope one day we get to meet, and I hope I get to hear everything God has done in your life.
Until then, keep following Jesus.
And remember what we’ve said throughout this journey:
Let’s pray together.
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your son and daughter who have made the decision to follow You. I pray that they would continue growing to become more like Jesus every day. Let the fruit of the Spirit become evident in their lives. Whether they experience seasons of joy or seasons of difficulty, remind them that they are never alone. Protect them, their families, their faith, and the purpose You have for their lives. Guard their hearts against discouragement, distraction, and anything that would draw them away from You. Help them to continually receive the grace You freely pour out and remind them that You are with them, You are for them, and You delight in them. Thank You for the gifts You’ve placed within them, and may they use those gifts to bring glory to Your name and make a lasting difference in the lives of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your 7-Day Journey with Jesus.
This may be the end of these seven days, but it is only the beginning of everything God has planned for your life.
